The Truth About “Seasonal” Freshness

Most fruits and vegetables aren’t available year-round—not in their natural state. For decades, we've relied on industrial agriculture and global imports to compensate for this reality. But in doing so, we’ve traded true freshness for availability.

🍃 Leafy Greens

In cold-weather states, leafy greens disappear from local soil between October and March. What’s left on grocery shelves? Trucked-in, bagged spinach or lettuce from thousands of miles away—often picked early, treated with preservatives, and limp by the time it hits your plate.
