but smart site preparation is still critical for long-term success.
Here’s what it takes.
Basic Site Requirements
Flat Surface:
Concrete pad, asphalt lot, or highly compacted gravel (minimum requirements based on Pod size)
Power Connection:
Standard 220V or 480V service depending on Pod model
(electrician consultation required for final hookup)
Potable Water Supply:
Standard municipal water hookup or approved well water system
Internet Access:
Wi-Fi or hardline connection for remote system monitoring and updates

Setup Process
Step 1: Site Preparation
Clear and level the installation area
Pour a concrete slab (preferred) or prepare a reinforced surface
Install utility connections (power, water, internet nearby)
Step 2: Pod Delivery
GrowPod or Hub units delivered by truck or semi
Requires clear, level access for delivery vehicles (20’ or 40’ container size)
Step 3: Utility Hookups
Final connections of power, water, and internet completed by local contractors (can be coordinated with Produce Now if needed)
Step 4: System Activation and Startup
Produce Now team assists with system activation (virtual or on-site)
Full training and operational handoff

Important Site Considerations
Accessibility:
Ensure delivery trucks and forklifts can safely access the site
Drainage:
Confirm proper site drainage to avoid standing water around the Pod
Zoning:
Check local zoning requirements for modular farming units (in most cases classified as equipment, not permanent structures)
Security:
Basic fencing or camera systems recommended for remote or open-access locations
